Our Restaurant
Peppers is a contemporary award winning pan-asian restaurant. Every aspect of our business reflects our attention to detail, from our stunning Michelangelo style ceiling, to the nuances of our menus. We are centrally located in the very heart of Birmingham’s restaurant and bar district of Broad Street.
Our award-winning chef Subhojit Chakravarty, who hails from cosmopolitan Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), has created an extensive menu that offers a subtle balancing act between tradition and innovation.
Having graduated from the prestigious Institute of Hotel Management in Calcutta and trained at some of India’s leading hotels including the five-star Taj in Delhi, Subhojit’s dishes embrace authentic favourites from the region with a modern twist using fresh ingredients from across the world.
From the dining area to the kitchens, our experienced and fully trained staff provide attentive and knowledgeable service.
Pan-Asian Cuisine.
During the early 1900s the Hakka Chinese community migrated to India fromCanton to escape the opium warfare. Once settled they began to fuse the flavours of Indian and Chinese cuisine and developed and perfected their own culinarystyle.
This style is known as Chinese Hakka. Just as curry is a firm favourite in the UK, Chinese Hakka will always
be on the menu in India. However in accordance with religious beliefs in India our menu does not contain any
pork dishes. And as a large proportion of Indians are vegetarian, you will notice a wide range of meat-free
options are also available.
Our menu draws influence from traditional Indian, Chinese and Hakka cuisine to create a distinctive and
unique experience that takes guests on a whirlwind tour of south Asia.
